We took a weekend trip to Galveston to celebrate Chris' birthday and to pick up our sweet pooch. It was a great weekend. We had the opportunity to replay Kinley's previous beach fail as well as more time to hang out with family and good friends.
Friday we took the ferry over to Bolivar to see what Pawpaw has been up to the past few months. I had not visited Bolivar since October 2008. The peninsula looked better though there is still a long way to go before things are back to normal. Pawpaw took us around and showed us all of the projects he has been working on including the renovation of our shrimp boat, the Big K. We also got to see the homes that he is working on getting repaired and checked out his newest business, Port Bolivar Management. Pawpaw is such a fighter, he has not missed a beat since the hurricane and has definitely made lemonade out of lemons. I hope I can be that brave and innovative if I am ever in a similar situation! We are proud of you pawpaw!

Saturday we celebrated Chris' 34th and Kinleys 5 month birthdays by enjoying a cook out at the beachhouse with the Garcia family. A gorgeous day, great friends and beautiful weather made for the perfect day!

Sunday was our beach fun day! Jackie Mike and Macy drove down from Houston to hang out with us. We had a blast! Kinley was still not a huge fan of the water or sand but she was much more tolerable this trip vs her previous experiences! Pawpaw and Aunt Kara joined in on the fun. We all had a great time splashing around in the gulf and enjoying each others company. It was one of those days that you don't want to end. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to share our lives with.
