We had our first midwife appointment on August 19 at 10 weeks 2 days. It was one of the most exciting experiences we have ever been through. The midwifes at Austin Area Birthing Center are so kind and have such wonderful bedside manor. Although I was nervous they put me at ease and had us laughing throughout the appointment.
First things first, weight, so far I have gained 4 lbs, not great but not horrible. The midwife was not concerned in the least. Yay!!
We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat using a doppler, it was amazing. It was beating so fast! The baby was consistently moving around to get away from being prodded :)
Next we were able to see the baby through an ultrasound. This has to be the most amazing feeling a new parent feels. Watching your tiny baby moving and growing inside your tummy. The baby was bouncing around like it was in a moonwalk! The midwife commented how active and big the baby looked already!
So it's official, the baby is coming on or around March 17, 2009!!
